03 / The variables

What moves the number

Can change the quote

  • Guest count, through system size. 150 to 300 guests is a real equipment step.
  • Ceremony coverage: a second system, a second operator, three more hours on site.
  • Venue difficulty. A fifth-floor room with one passenger elevator and no dock is genuinely two extra hours each way. See the venue notes.
  • Date. A Saturday in September costs more than a Friday in February, here and everywhere.
  • Travel beyond the GTA, quoted as a visible line.

Does not change it

  • Song requests. There is no premium catalogue.
  • The planning calls. They are how the night works.
  • Setup and teardown. That is the job.

The market context, including why some quotes are much lower, is in what a wedding DJ costs in Toronto.

Check your date

The first question is always whether the date is open. Start there: the rest takes two minutes.

1. What is the event? Step 1 of 5
Choose a service
Estimate Shown on each option above Flat quote confirmed before any work starts. Prices in CAD, before HST.
2. Where will it happen? Step 2 of 5
Name the venue if it is booked. If you are still choosing, leave this blank. The date is enough to start.
3. When is it? Step 3 of 5
Choose a time window
If the date is not fixed, choose the first day of the month you are aiming for and tell us in the notes. Popular Saturdays often book nine to twelve months ahead. Short-notice dates are still worth asking about.
4. How do we reach you? Step 4 of 5

Two separate permissions, because in Canadian law they are two separate things. Ticking one never ticks the other, both are optional, and neither changes how we handle your booking.

No payment now and no obligation. We reply within one working day with availability and the right next step.

Questions about pricing

How much is a wedding DJ in Toronto?

Our packages start at $3,000 and most weddings land between $4,500 and $7,500. That includes DJ, our own sound and lighting, planning calls and one operator on site all night.

Is MC service included?

No. Emshab provides DJ and production services in English, but does not provide MC services. We coordinate the run sheet, music cues and microphones with the host or MC you choose.

Is the price fixed or does it change?

Fixed, in writing, before you book. If the venue turns out to need more than we quoted, that is our problem rather than a change order.

What is the deposit?

30% to hold the date, balance due two weeks before the event. The deposit is what actually reserves the date. A verbal hold is not a booking.

Do you charge for setup and teardown?

No. It is part of the job and it is in the price. A supplier who itemises it is inflating the comparison.

Do prices include HST?

No. All figures on this site are before HST.

Do you charge for travel?

Not within the GTA: Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Brampton, Oakville, Etobicoke, North York, Scarborough. Beyond that we quote travel as a visible line instead of hiding it.

What payment methods do you take?

E-transfer, credit card, debit and cash. Corporate clients can pay against a purchase order on net-30 terms.

What happens if we cancel?

The deposit is non-refundable because the date comes off the calendar. Beyond that there is no cancellation penalty. If we have to cancel for any reason within our control, you get everything back plus help finding a replacement.
